BIOGRAPHY

Angela Medrano

Angela M. Medrano, an attorney and consultant, specializes in Federal Indian and Tribal Law. She earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of Southern California and obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego’s School of Law. Throughout her legal career, she has dedicated herself to advancing tribal interests, with a recent focus on economic development and tribal governance.

 

Ms. Medrano serves as a pro tem and Youth Court judge at the Intertribal Court of Southern California (ICSC). Furthermore, she instructs the "Introduction to Tribal Legal Studies" course through USCD Extension in collaboration with American Indian Recruitment Programs and the ICSC. In the spring of 2023, she served as an Adjunct Professor, teaching "Native American Law" at the University of San Diego, School of Law.

 

In her professional affiliations, Ms. Medrano has been a former board member of the California Indian Law Association and the San Diego County Bar Association. Currently, she is a board member of the North County Bar Association and holds the position of President at the Native American Lawyers Association of San Diego County. Additionally, she has contributed her expertise to various boards, committees, and commissions for her tribe – the Cahuilla Band of Indians.
